Responsible for second line of defense assessment and management of risks associated with Third Party relationships, including review and determination of accuracy of due diligence information, documentation of appropriate risk assessments, approval of risk ratings, monitoring of assigned portfolio, and identification of exceptions.
Monitor and coordinate Third Party Risk Management approval of Purchase Requisitions (PRs) and ensure overall quality of documentation within the approval process.
Ensure accuracy and completeness of information provided by requester to support the requested service.
Assess the inherent risk associated with the requested service utilizing due diligence information provided as well as general knowledge of third party risks.
Ensure a high quality and appropriate level of due diligence is performed and is in alignment with TPRM policies and procedures.
Review completed Life Cycle Card and Exit Strategy on outsourced services ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Confirm the output of the Service Risk and Provider Risk tier rating is appropriate.
Provide guidance and direction to personnel regarding BBVA Compass Third Party Risk Management culture and Third Party Risk Management Policy.
Consult with other departments (e.g. Compliance, InfoSec, etc.) for additional Third Party Risk assessment requirements needed for the request, emphasizing early and continuous communication for completion.
Monitor Third Party Risk approval process using available tools.
Ensure appropriate risk tier rating assignment recognizing changes in a Third Party situation (financial, industry, management, business environment, etc.) which would cause a change in risk rating.
Monitor outstanding and incomplete requests to ensure final completion or withdrawal from system.
Provide training and guidance around Third Party Risk Management to more junior staff members.
Write comprehensive risk assessments for new third party engagements as needed for BASPAC/VROC.
Perform other work-related duties as assigned by the Director of Third Party Risk Management or Director of Internal Control and Governance.
