Job description


The key responsibilities of the Credit Products Officer II involve underwriting and ongoing periodic monitoring of credits to companies within the Middle Market, Mid-Corporate and Restaurant Finance lines of business. The main objective is to ensurethat the credit risk assumed by the Bank complies with BBVA Compass Credit Policies and Procedures which govern the Bank’s risk appetite.

CPOs are primarily industry generalists focused on assisting the respective lines of business who are tasked with developing the Bank’s portfolio of loans that meet the specific structure and criteria within these lines of business. In additionto underwriting and providing portfolio management coverage on participations mostly to broadly syndicated facilities, coverage also may include those directly originated by the Bank for bilateral, club and syndicated facilities whereby the Bank servesas lead agent.


Responsibilities

    - Complete due diligence.
    - Conduct financial modeling (projections for term debt and transactions).
    - Underwrite credit (new / renewals / modifications).
    - Participate in the credit approval process.
    - Negotiate credit (with Client Manager involved as needed).
    - Reviewing closing documents and ensuring proper booking of transactions.
    - Monitor financial statements, borrowing base, covenant compliance, exception management overdrafts and ACH approvals.
    - Ensure ratings are accurate and updated in a timely manner for credits assigned in their portfolio.
    - Contribute to client planning sessions.
    - Work with Client Managers on capital structure idea pitches to clients and prospects.
    - Coordinate with the Client Manager to perform relationship reviews to determine appropriateness and competitiveness of credit package.
    - Monitor industry trends in their assigned portfolio.
    - Travel as necessary to attend meetings with clients and prospects.
Education/Experience

Bachelor''s Degree (BA, BS, etc.) in a business related field with emphasis in management, accounting or finance is required with at least six (6) hours of accounting. Requires a minimum of three (3) years of underwriting or credit analysis experience.
