Job description

Manages a significant subset of a major accounting function. Maintains financial data for the bank and/or smaller line of business. Responsible for the timely collection and communication of complex financial data reflecting the bank’s financial position at any point in time. Requires a broad knowledge of financial reporting and standard accounting practices and procedures, and the ability to produce a large volume of reports within expected timeline. Manages assigned staff.


    Manage the daily operations and tasks of assigned staff ensuring all accounting transactions and assigned accounting duties are completed in a timely and accurate manner within the time frame of established procedures. Coordinate the preparation of various financial statements and reports required by the company, its external auditors, the Federal Reserve, the SEC or other regulatory authorities.
    Supervise preparation of reconciliation for all general ledger and subsidiary accounts and directs research of all discrepancies until resolved to a satisfactory conclusion. Oversee preparation of daily reconciliation of accounts with the Federal Reserve Bank, and correspondent institutions.
    Oversee maintenance of investment model and ensure accurate reports. Coordinate accounts payable function ensuring timely payment of invoices. Coordinate the preparation of a variance analysis on a regular basis, providing management with narrative on significant variances.
    Oversee the preparation and posting of manual month end accrual entries. Ensure that financial records stored off site (Disaster Recovery Plan) are updated on a regular basis. Assist in the annual budget development process.
    Prepare or assist in preparation of special purpose reports and analyze associated statistical reports. Keep well informed of enhancements to the system and various spreadsheet programs utilized by the department. Recommend additional enhancements to the systems or reports where appropriate.


Bachelor''s Degree (BA, BS, etc.) in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required with Seven (7) years of accounting experience. Work experience may substitute for education requirement.

Preferred: Certified Public Accountant (CPA)

Preferred Qualifications

This position will manage day to day U.S. Regulatory Reporting, primarily focused on the FFIEC 041 Consolidated Reports of Condition and Income for a Bank with Domestic Offices Only Call Report, and the FR Y9C Consolidated Financial Statements for Holding Companies.
