Job description


Manage market and credit risks daily. Formalizes the process of risk management within an organization. Lead the identification of risk issues and solutions to mitigate those issues. Responsible to understand financial institution regulatory requirements for security risk assessments. Coordinate the performance of risk studies to analyze threats to the bank''s assets, to assess the adequacy of controls to protect these assets, and to determine actions appropriate to mitigate the risk.

Responsibilities



    Identify, measure and manage risk issues. Document risk issues, recommendations, and decisions.
    Serve as an expert in various aspects of risk management. Undertake the average complexity projects requiring additional specialized technical knowledge.
    Make well-thought-out decisions to mitigate typical security risk issues. Ensure high-level integration of security policies and standards in applications.
    Identify, evaluate, and lead technical analyses to ensure security requirements are met; managing resources wisely; evaluating sources of action and proposed business decisions; protecting the organization’s assets and public image.
    Conducting research to assess the severity of risk. Conducting statistical analysis to evaluate risk and using statistical software such as SPSS and SAS.

Education/Experience

Bachelor''s Degree (BA, BS, etc.) in Mathematics, Finance, or a related field required with One (1) year of related experience. Work experience may substitute for education requirement.

Preferred Qualifications

Job description:

  • Estimate Parameters for Allowances, Economic Capital and IFRS9/CECL for different portfolios and estimation of CCAR models.
  • Develop and maintain (monitoring and calibration) of commercial/consumer scorecards.
  • Act as a technical expert on assigned projects.
  • Communicate model assumptions, performance and implications to internal and external clients.
  • Test models through backtesting, benchmarking, sensitivity testing and stress testing.
  • Document credit risk models according to defined documentation standards.
  • Follow the governance and review process to get models approved and successfully implemented.

Skills required:

  • Modeling experience in one or more of the following areas preferred: credit, operational and market risk.
  • Modelling in other relevant areas such as Economic Capital, Loss Forecasting or Stress Testing, preferred.
  • Knowledge of credit parameters calculation (PD, LGD and CCF)
  • Knowledge of scorecard development or loss forecasting process for different portfolios.Strong programming skills, ideally in SAS, R or Python.
  • Knowledge of Machine Learning, boosting, neural networks and Graphs Methodologies.
  • Good knowledge of banking credit risk regulations (IFRS9, CECL and/or Basel II IRB).
  • Ability to research learn and apply new concepts and statistical techniques with limited assistance. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills as the position requires an ability to communicate complex technical concepts to a diverse audience.

Preferred Education:Master’s Degree in a quantitative field (Financial Engineering, Quantitative Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Physics or Data Scientist.) or professional certification (FRM, CFA,,,)Preferred Experience1 to 3 years of experience in Credit Risk Modelling
