Description

Responsible for the monitoring of risks associated with Third Party relationships from a 2nd line of defense (LOD) perspective.Duties include the review of third party monitoring performed by the first line of defense, the assessment of completeness of monitoring activities, the on-site visits of critical third parties, the determination of compliance with policy on Compliance, InfoSec and Business Continuity reviews, and the reporting and escalation of identified issues.Responsibilities

    Perform established monitoring processes and routines to ensure the 1st line of defense (LOD) is appropriately overseeing the risks inherent with engaging a third party; responsibilities include:Accurately monitoring the monitoring procedures performed by the 1st LOD on their third partiesDetermining completeness and accuracy of monitoring activities performed by the 1st LODEnsuring compliance with policy on reviews performed by other departments of the BankPerforming on-site visits of key third parties as directedUnderstand and apply FRB SR13-19, Guidance on Managing Third Party Risk, as well as BBVA Third Party Risk Management policy throughout the review process.Identify monitoring gaps or weaknesses and provide recommendations for resolving said gaps.Document and maintain evidence of monitoring reviews providing needed reports to management within established deadlines.Conduct on-site visits of key third parties quickly ascertaining the vendor’s operations and identifying critical risks and control gaps.Produce thorough report of observations and conclusions of on-site visit effectively communicating information.Perform other work-related duties as assigned.Interface with the various Lines of Business (LOBs) regarding TPRM monitoring, reporting, escalating issues and other initiatives ensuring effective communication.Perform duties accurately and within established SLA’s.Provide guidance and direction to more junior personnel regarding BBVA Compass Third Party Risk Management Policy and department procedures.br>
Education/Experience Bachelor''s Degree (BA, BS, etc.) in Finance, Business, or a related field required with Three (3) years of risk management, compliance, and/or audit experience. Work experience may substitute for education requirement.Lic/Cert/RegRequired: none requiredPreferred: none preferred
